Embark on a sacred journey through the holiest cities of Islam. Discover every blessed site, its history, and spiritual significance.
Ziyarat (زیارت) means "to visit" in Arabic. In Islamic terms, it refers to visiting the sacred and historical places connected to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, his family, and his companions. These visits deepen faith, enrich the Umrah and Hajj experience, and connect pilgrims to 1400 years of Islamic heritage.
The holiest mosque in Islam, surrounding the sacred Kaaba. Every Umrah and Hajj begins here with Tawaf. Millions of Muslims face this direction for every prayer.
The Mountain of Light, home to the Cave of Hira (Ghaar-e-Hira) where the very first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by Angel Jibreel.
This mountain contains the Cave of Thawr, where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Abu Bakr RA hid for three nights during the blessed migration (Hijra) to Madinah. Allah sent a spider to spin a miraculous web over the entrance.
Called the Mountain of Mercy, this is where pilgrims stand during Hajj on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah. The Prophet ﷺ delivered his Final Sermon here. It is believed that Hazrat Adam AS and Hawwa AS were reunited at this spot.
The sacred cemetery of Makkah where the Prophet's ﷺ beloved wife Hazrat Khadija RA, his grandfather Abdul Muttalib, and other noble ancestors are buried. A deeply moving Ziyarat.
Named after Hazrat Aisha RA, this mosque is the Miqat (boundary) for residents of Makkah who wish to enter the state of Ihram for additional Umrah during their stay.
This mosque marks the site where a group of Jinn heard Prophet Muhammad ﷺ reciting the Quran and embraced Islam — a miracle that proved Islam's message reached all of creation.
It is widely accepted that the current library building was erected in 1951 on the site where our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born — the most blessed soul to ever walk the earth.
The Prophet's Mosque — second holiest in Islam, built by the Prophet ﷺ himself. It contains the Rawdah Mubarak (the blessed garden), and the sacred burial chamber of the Prophet ﷺ. Prayer here equals 1,000 prayers elsewhere.
The blessed garden inside Masjid Nabawi between the Prophet's ﷺ pulpit (Minbar) and his chamber. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise."
The very first mosque ever built in the history of Islam. The Prophet ﷺ laid its foundation stones upon arriving in Madinah. Praying two rakat here earns the reward of one complete Umrah.
The site of the Battle of Uhud, where 70 companions were martyred. The Prophet ﷺ declared: "Uhud is a mountain that loves us and we love it." The graves of the martyrs, including Hazrat Hamza RA, are here.
The historic cemetery next to Masjid Nabawi where thousands of companions (Sahaba), the Prophet's wives, and family members rest. The Prophet ﷺ used to visit regularly and pray for the buried.
The Mosque of Two Qiblas — the unique place where Allah commanded the change of Qibla direction from Masjid al-Aqsa (Jerusalem) to the Kaaba in Makkah, mid-prayer.
Part of the famous Masjid Sab'ah (Seven Mosques) complex, built at the site of the Battle of the Trench (Ghazwa-e-Khandaq). The Prophet ﷺ made dua here for three days, and victory was granted. Al-Fath means "The Victory."
The date palm garden historically linked to the noble companion Salman al-Farsi RA — whose remarkable story of seeking truth led him from Persia all the way to Islam and the companionship of the Prophet ﷺ.
مَا بَيْنَ بَيْتِي وَمِنْبَرِي رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ
"Between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise."
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ · Sahih al-Bukhari
Make the most of your sacred journey with these essential guidelines for a smooth and spiritually enriching Ziyarat experience.
Many Ziyarat sites become extremely crowded by midday, especially during Ramadan and Hajj season. Start your tour right after Fajr prayer.
Maintain full Islamic modesty at all times. Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended — especially for climbing Jabal al-Nour and Uhud.
The Arabian climate is extremely hot. Always carry a Zamzam bottle or water with you, especially for outdoor Ziyarat places like Arafat and Uhud.
For Rawdah Ziyarat (Riyadh ul-Jannah), advance booking through the official Saudi Nusuk app is now required. Book as early as possible.
A knowledgeable local guide will explain the historical and spiritual context of each site, transforming a simple visit into a profound experience.
Many Ziyarat places have mosques. Maximize your spiritual reward by praying at each location and making sincere dua for yourself and your loved ones.
